Moray’s Member of the Westminster Parliament Angus Robertson has welcomed news that British Airways are to reinstate a service from Inverness to Heathrow.

A Heathrow link has long been called for by businesses in Moray and the Highlands, who view it as a key link to reach customers and business partners in London and the South East.

The link also opens up a host of connections from Heathrow to the rest of the world.

Angus Robertson MP said:

“The security of Inverness Airport’s services to London has long been an undercurrent of concern for businesses here in Moray and across the Highlands and Islands.

“Access to marketplaces is absolutely critical for our many exporting businesses and doing business often means going out to meet people face to face. To do that needs high quality transport links, including air links to London.

“Getting a Heathrow link from Inverness opens up a wide range of opportunities both for doing business in London and the South East of England, which are important marketplaces, and for getting a much wider range of onward connections.

“There is also a clear benefit for tourism with more opportunities for visitors to come into Moray via Inverness Airport.”
